Carr & Day & Martin Killitch Lotion is licenced and proven to prevent and treat sweet itch in horses and ponies. Killitch Lotion contains the active ingredient benzyl benzoate in a soothing lotion that has been specially formulated for horses. Killitch Lotion treats and soothes affected areas.
Carr & Day & Martin Killitch Lotion can be used as a preventative measure in early spring before symptoms become evident and it is possible that the condition may not take a hold.
How to Apply
When sweet itch is diagnosed, apply Killitch® to all affected areas while wearing gloves. Use your fingers or a soft cloth for application. Continue using the product throughout the sweet itch season.
For the first few days, apply Killitch® twice daily. Gradually reduce to once daily and eventually 3-4 times a week as the irritation subsides.
It is important to keep all affected areas clean by regularly shampooing and rinsing them at least once a week. After shampooing or strenuous exercise, re-apply Killitch® to ensure optimal protection.
If your horse has a history of sweet itch, it is recommended to start applying Killitch® in early spring before symptoms appear. This can help prevent the condition from taking hold.
