Nikwax Rug Proof™ is a high performance waterproofer specially designed to revitalise insulation and breathability for all animal coats and rugs.
Rug Proof™ enhances the performance of animal rugs and blankets, adding water repellency and reviving breathability, keeping your animal warmer and drier for longer.
It is easy to use in a washing machine, by hand if hand washing and also with a sponge. It comes in a 100% recycled bottle and is water based, non flammable and PFC free.
It is recommended to be used on Rambo® and all other animal rugs and blankets.
How To Use In A Washing Machine:
For best results always clean rug first with Nikwax® Rug Wash™. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. It is vital that rugs are washed and rinsed thoroughly. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions.
- Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser.
- Place clean rug in washing machine.
- Use 500 ml for 1 rug. Treat 1 rug per load.
- Run 30°C cotton cycle.
- Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows.
How To Use If Handwashing:
For best results always clean rug first with Nikwax® Rug Wash™. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. It is vital that rugs are washed and rinsed thoroughly. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions.
- Wear gloves. Use 500 ml for 1 rug, with 10 litres of hand-hot water in vessel.
- Agitate to mix, push down into vessel so that whole rug is immersed.
- Add a further 15 litres of warm water to cover rug and agitate.
- Leave to soak for 2 hours, agitating occasionally.
- Rinse in cold water until water runs clear.
- Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows.
How To Use As A Sponge On:
For best results always clean rug first with Nikwax® Rug Wash™. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. It is vital that rugs are washed and rinsed thoroughly. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions.
- Wear gloves. Spread clean rug on clean area and wet thoroughly with a hose.
- Use 500 ml for 1 rug, with 1.5 litres of hand-hot water.
- Using a new sponge apply solution to rug, working into fabric and seams.
- Use any surplus on back area of rug, leave for 5-10 minutes.
- Rinse in cold water until water runs clear.
- Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows.
